This is a update to my post from November of 2016 about the exciting TV Series Skindigenous which features many of my friends and colleagues from across the globe. I will be sharing a short review of each episode and also share with you the lessons and inspirations I received after watching each episode. I will be sharing with you my own episode which is the fourth episode of thirteen.
http://www.nishmedia.tv/index_en.php)This email inquired about my possible interest in participating in what has become the television series Skindigenous, which premiered earlier this year on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network. I of course expressed my enthusiasm about the project and many conversations turned into a TV crew visiting me in Salmon Arm British Columbia.
Teaser trailer for my episode
During the episode that I am featured in I invite the viewer into my life and journey as a professional tattoo artist and cultural tattoo practitioner and visual artist. First you are welcomed into the tattoo shop that I work at Vertigo Tattoos and Body Piercing in Salmon Arm BC. While at the shop I share with the viewer a Coast Salish salmon design which I do on my brother in law Wes Wilson. Later that day I tattoo my cousin Jaime in one of the traditional methods of my ancestors the Nlaka’pamux, skin stitching.
